For the HTC Hero owners in Canada, you can now update your device to the Android 2.1. Head on over to the HTC website and you can find the Android 2.1 Éclair and users are asked to make the necessary backup precautions since the update will only retain the user data.
HTC Hero owners are advised to back up their information, including contacts and calendar appointments. They can use the HTC Sync to back up their information.
The software will be installed over the air through your data connection on their phone. They may choose to update via Wi-Fi if a Wi-Fi hotspot is available. A notification on their phones will show that they have an update available.
Include in the update are:
- Android Éclair 2.1
- Google Navigation (Web-based Turn-by-turn navigation with voice guidance)
- Voice activated dialing
