Google and Oracle are locked in a patent dispute and now all eyes are on them. Too many eyes though as each little aspect has become a big issue. And Google now finds itself on the hot seat, being hit by reportedly tampering search results and removing Oracle in the process.
Of course Google is denying everything. Apparently IPWatchdog encountered a strange query (involving Oracle I suppose) only to find out “tampered” results. The search was made 3PM EST yesterday which evidently returned to normal after a couple of hours.
All of these were later on declared as bogus. Apparently some trickster used a variety of UTF-8 characters to craft the query, which yielded a mere six results.
Now while all that may be settled, throwing more wood into the fire seems to be aggravating the issue a bit. Well, those are the things you just gotta expect especially when two large companies are dealing with legal issues.
