At least for Europe and Korea, there is a definite time frame as to when the Motorola Milestone will be getting the Android 2.2 FroYo update. The given date has been set by the fourth quarter of the year or to be more precise, at the beginning at the end of this year.
So while you may see the Q4 announcement by Motorola as appeasing, it does mean that some users may get it as early as 2011.
At the moment, the said upgrade is under evaluation in regions like Canada, Latin America, Mexico and Asia-Pacific sans Korea. Hopefully it doesn’t bump into any issues like what other Android handsets have encountered.
