Reacting to Google’s new voice action applications, Vlingo is now free over at the Android Market. Apparently the move is move made to compete with the Google application, offering their Android version for free so that users may compare which of the two best suits their interest.
Vlingo includes a few features that are not present in Voice Actions. This includes SafeReader which reads incoming texts and email messages. Vlingo is also available on other platforms such as the iPhone and the BlackBerry and, most importantly, on multiple versions of Android.
As attractive as Google’s Voice Actions for Android may be, it is only available for Android 2.2 users.
