There is always a risk as far as acquiring an unofficial OTA update and this time it concerns the Motorola Droid X. However this time, Motorola is stepping in as they try to put a stamp on leaked ROM which you will find over at sites like the MyDroidWorld site.
They concerned sites have been asked to remove the said leaked OTA, apparently for consumer issues. And we all know what an unofficial OTA can do and hence, Motorola may just be trying to avoid a lot of complaints being hurled their way.
